Sharing your wedding photos with your guests

The wedding is over and everybody has a few hundred shots. Here’s how to get them all in one place and hand them out in a single tap.

2 min read Updated QR cards and gallery

Sharing wedding photos is one of the most irritating parts of the whole thing. The usual approaches, and what goes wrong with each:

MethodThe problem
Sending them through a messaging appPhotos get compressed and lose quality, and you can’t send them to hundreds of people one at a time
A USB stick or memory cardHas to be handed over in person, so it never reaches anyone out of town
Sharing a cloud folderGuests have to create an account, and everything gets lost in one enormous folder
Uploading to social mediaIt becomes public, and there are private shots you won’t want to post
Asking everyone to send you their photosNobody does, and the few who do send them scattered across a dozen chats

How it works in Vowlia#

  1. You put QR cards on the tables

You print the card that comes with your invitation and put it on the tables. More: the QR card.

  2. Guests upload their own shots

They scan the card and upload their photos and videos from the page that opens — without installing anything.

  3. You sort through them

You see everything on the gallery screen and remove what you don’t want.

  4. You publish

Open the gallery with “Finish and publish”, and send your guests a notification if you want to.

Why this works better#

  • The collecting happens on the day. No chasing people afterwards asking them to send their photos.
  • It all lands in one place. One gallery instead of scattered messages from different people.
  • You stay in control. You decide what gets published.
  • No friction for your guests. No install, no account, no password.

When should you publish?#

Your guests are at their most curious the day after the wedding. Publishing the gallery within the first few days noticeably increases how many people open it. You can always edit the gallery again later to add new shots.

Don’t forget to download your photos

Storage is limited. See the timetable and the ways to download.

Do my guests need to install the app?
No. Both uploading and viewing open in their phone’s browser.
Can videos be shared too?
Yes, in the same stream as the photos.
How many photos can be uploaded?
A free invitation holds 200 photos and 20 GB of video in total; premium holds 2,000 photos and 200 GB of video.
