Designing your own invitation in Vowlia Studio

If none of the ready-made templates suit you, you can design your own. Nothing to download, nothing to install — it runs in your browser.

Vowlia Studio is our design tool, at studio.vowlia.com. The community designs on the templates screen are made here too. Don’t let it put you off: it’s simple enough to finish in five minutes, but capable enough to spend real time on.

What’s in it#

An image library

There’s a large archive of images in the system; add whichever you like to your canvas.

Ready-made layouts

Layout plans and text blocks to start from — you don’t have to begin with a blank page.

Invitation wording

You write the invitation wording yourself. Ready-made examples: wedding invitation wording.

Typography

Font, size and color settings, with separate fields for names, family names and initials.

Animations

Moving elements like falling leaves bring the invitation to life.

Components

You can place the countdown, map and weather components anywhere on the canvas.

Envelope seal

You choose the seal color of the envelope in the opening animation.

Live preview

Every change you make shows up on the invitation immediately.

The invitation details screen — fill this in properly#

Before you start designing, you get an invitation details screen. Filling it in with your real details buys you two things:

  • You see your own names on the design canvas instead of placeholders, so you’re laying out real text.
  • When you transfer the design to the app, you won’t have to type it all again — it carries over automatically.

When your design is finished#

  1. Press the Done button.
  2. The app asks whether you’d like to share your design with the community (optional).
  3. You’re shown a QR code; scan it from the app on your phone to move the design to your account. More: moving your design to the app.
Can I edit a ready-made template in the studio?
The studio is for designing your own invitation from scratch. Ready-made templates come as the designer made them and can’t be edited; in the studio you build everything yourself.
Does the studio cost anything?
No. Designing is free. You only pay when you create the invitation in the app.
Do I need an account to design?
Not to try it out — you can design in demo mode without signing up. You sign in when you want to move it to your account.
Can I design on my phone?
It opens in any browser, but a larger screen makes placing text and adjusting typography noticeably easier.
