Choosing a template: free, premium and community designs

The templates screen holds more than 100 designs. The tabs at the top narrow the list by type.

The tabs#

All

Every template in one list.

Free

Vowlia templates that work on free terms.

Premium

Templates designed by Vowlia. Every premium feature comes with them.

Community designs

Invitations our users designed in Vowlia Studio and shared. The designer’s name and photo appear underneath.

There’s also a filter you can use to narrow the list down to designs that match your style.

The info icon next to each template#

Every template on the templates screen has an ⓘ info icon next to it. Tap it and you get two things: a short video showing how the template is used, and a screen listing the differences between free and premium. It lets you see what a given template gets you before you buy anything.

What you can change, and what you can’t#

This is the thing people get confused about most. On a ready-made template the design is fixed — the system hands it to you finished. If you want flexibility, you design your own invitation in Vowlia Studio.

So the choice comes down to this: if you like one of the ready-made designs, you enter your details and you’re done in five minutes; if you want your own wording and your own colors, you go to the studio. The studio is a five-minute job too, and there’s nothing to install.

After you’ve chosen a template#

  1. Choose “Use this template” and fill in the detail fields.
  2. Check all three preview screens.
  3. Choose how you want to send the invitation, and complete the payment.

What to look out for#

  • Name length: long names wrap onto two lines in some designs — check the preview.
  • Readability: script typefaces look elegant but get tiring over longer text.
  • Matching your theme: a template close to your wedding colors ties the invitation and the venue together.
  • Free or premium: features like the weather and the AI memory book are premium only. Compare them.
The template I want isn’t in the list — can I request one?
Of course. Write to us on live chat; template requests are the ones we get most often and act on fastest. You can also design your own in Vowlia Studio.
Are community designs really free?
Yes. The invitation itself is free; the app will offer to upgrade you to the premium features if you want them.
Can I use the same template for two events?
Yes. Using the same design for the engagement and the wedding and changing only the date and venue is a common choice; each event becomes its own invitation.
